Data Corruption During Write Transit

Data corruption due to an unexpected power interruption will affect data during a write transit. During a write transit, the target data is at its’ most vulnerable stage since it has not been fully committed to the NAND Flash Memory. Before data is committed to NAND Flash Memory it is buffered between the host and controller, then will be buffered between the controller and the volatile cache, and finally will be buffered again between the volatile cache and the NAND Flash Memory. Data corruption due to unexpected power interruption will not affect data being read operationally within the drive since the data is already stored in the NAND Flash Memory, however, reads done for purposes of ECC matching may be affected.
