Hardware Based Protection

Delkin’s hardware-based power fail protection includes the use of voltage detectors and current limiters. Voltage detectors monitor the programmable input voltage as well as the undervoltage threshold and “power good” thresholds. Voltages that register outside of the acceptable tolerance trigger the SSD to insure it has completed its’ last write before shutting down the drive. The current limiter prevents excess voltage input from damaging the SSD. In the event the current limiter is triggered due to excess voltage, it will report to the SDD’s controller issuing a command to shut off the power supply once final writes are completed, thus preventing damage to the drive and eliminating data loss or data integrity issues.
