This is perfect for users who have minimal experience in networking. It is based on the Atmel SAMD21 and SARAU201 GSM module. This board can be powered with a lithium-ion polymer (LiPo) battery or an external 5 V source and switches from one source to another automatically.

The MKR GSM 1400 comes with a rich set of I/O interfaces, GSM communication, 32-bit computational power, and the ease-of-use of the Arduino integrated development environment (IDE) software for code development and programming. These features make this board the preferred choice for emerging IoT battery-powered projects in a compact form factor. The MKR GSM 1400 can be set up on Hologram’s network using the Hologram tri-cut global IoT SIM card.
