Image of Gateworks GW16162 Cellular Modem The Gateworks GW16162-1 modem is the first member of the GW16162 family of rugged, end-device certified cellular modems in a compact M.2 B-Key form factor. Designed for industrial edge applications, these modems enable rapid deployment without the delays or costs of additional RF testing or carrier certification. They are ideal for remote monitoring, transportation systems, energy infrastructure, and factory automation.

Powered by the Telit Cinterion CMB100 module, GW16162 modems support LTE Cat 4, Cat M1/NB2, and Cat 1 BIS, with a roadmap to support 5G RedCap. They include global certifications for Verizon, AT&T, FCC, IC, and PTCRB, making them truly deployment ready. Engineers can integrate the GW16162 seamlessly into Gateworks SBCs featuring NXP® Semiconductor i.MX 8M and i.MX 95 processors for a scalable, embedded connectivity solution. The GW16162-1 features LTE Cat 4 (up to 50 Mbps up and 150 Mbps down).

Designed and manufactured in the USA, the GW16162 series offers reliable operation from -40°C to +85°C and supports USB 2.0. A built-in nano-SIM slot and dual U.FL connectors for cellular and GNSS provide robust and flexible I/O for industrial projects.

Developers can use standard Linux tools (uqmi, ModemManager, picocom) for configuration and management. The GW16162 supports AT command, QMI, and PPP modes for maximum integration flexibility.
