These capacitive sensors with integrated IO-Link are delivered with pre-defined factory settings, but they can be modified to meet the specific needs of the application from the simplest to the most complex. There are over 50 parameters that can be adjusted to meet the most demanding applications.

The CA18/30 series allow flexible sensor configuration, access to process data, remote configurations, and events using an IO-Link master and standard non-shielded cord sets.

Once the sensors are configured through an IO-Link system or the use of the smart configurator from Carlo Gavazzi, they can operate in an IO-Link system or a non-IO-Link system.

If the sensors are installed in an IO-Link system, the benefits are continuous data access, configuration flexibility, advanced detection, automatic parameter settings, advanced diagnostics, access to process data, remote configurations/events, multi-function device, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.

When the sensors are used in a non-IO-Link system, the sensors automatically switch to Standard IO mode, and they behave just like a standard sensor. The output of the sensor will go ON according to the previously defined program.
