DKRed - An Inexpensive, Quality Extension of DigiKey's PCB Builder

While the release of DigiKey’s PCB Builder was an exciting new addition to our lineup of engineering tools, we knew we eventually wanted to offer a board service with a lower cost to better serve all of our customers’ needs. Enter DKRed, the premium quality extension of PCB Builder.

The DKRed PCBs provide a low-cost option for customers to bring their design to fruition.

Registered users can head to DigiKey’s website and find the PCB Builder under “Tools” on the home page. DKRed is located on the PCB Builder page for ease of use and is enabled using the toggle button next to “Bare Board Options and Specifications”.

Once DKRed has been selected, limited options are auto-selected for cost-effective purposes. The technical parameters include premium features such as a TG 170-180 temperature grade and a gold - ENIG surface finish - quality is not lacking.

Other parameters include:

• 2 or 4 layer boards
• MOQ of 4 boards
• .062” board thickness
• DigiKey Red solder mask
• 1oz copper weight
• 0.5” x 0.5” minimum board size
