Robots are used to reduce the human error, increase productivity, and improve the overall automation process. Each robot fits into one of two generalized categories based on your needs, collaborative and service. Collaborative robots are designed to be used in conjunction with human interaction. Because of this, these robots include extra safety features such as the ability to detect unexpected resistances or collisions. Service robots have been around much longer and are designed to handle high speeds and weights. These robots lack internal safety features requiring external safety features to be added.
