Q. What happens to my application/resume once it is received?
A. Once your information is received, it is reviewed by Human Resources and the hiring manager for the position. Once your information has been reviewed, you will be contacted by either phone, email or text message from a Human Resources representative.
Q. What is the starting salary for the position I’m interested in?
A. An HR Staffing Specialist will be able to share more information regarding the starting pay as it varies based on the position.
Q. Once my application/resume is received, how will I know my status?
A. Within one week of submitting your application/resume, you should have received either a call, email or text message. If you have not been contacted within one week, please call (218) 681-8000 x 7930 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to connect with a Staffing Specialist that would be happy to assist you.
Q. How long does my information remain on file?
A. We keep your application and/or resume on file for a period of two years from the date these materials are received.
Q. What can I expect if chosen for an on-site interview?
A. You will be invited on-site at Digi-Key and take part in an interview process that may include generalized and job specific testing. Depending on the position for which you are interviewing, you can expect to be on-site anywhere from 1 hour – 4 hours. You can discuss the specific allotted timeframe with the Staffing Specialist setting up your interview.
Q. How do I get to Digi-Key for my interview?
A. Digi-Key’s address is 701 Brooks Ave N, Thief River Falls, MN 56701. You will enter Digi-Key’s East parking lot off of Brooks Ave. Visitor parking is marked. Please enter through the Visitors entrance and check in with the receptionist. Click here for available maps.
Q. If turned down, will I ever be reconsidered?
A. Yes. Since your application materials are kept on file for a period of two years, they are available for review and reconsideration during that time.
Resume and Interview Tips
Supply Accurate Information
Whether filling out an application or submitting a resume, provide accurate information regarding your skills, experience, and education. Digi-Key takes falsification of application information quite seriously. You also do not want to limit your opportunities for consideration by not presenting the accurate representation of your skills and qualifications.
Dress for Success
Plan your attire to fit Digi-Key’s business casual culture. Remember that it’s always better to be overdressed than under.
Be on time
Strive to arrive about 10-15 minutes before your scheduled interview to allow yourself time to get settled.
You should have a general idea of the position you are interviewing for as well as the company you are hoping to join.
You should be aware of your strengths and weaknesses and be able to communicate those honestly to the interviewer. You want to be hired for who you truly are and be placed in a position that gives you the greatest chance at success.
