REDCUBE PRESS-FIT

With the lowest Failure-In-Time value, REDCUBE PRESS-FIT is the most reliable technology on PCB. The FIT value is up to 30 times better than that of a SMD solder joint.

Pressing the pins into the PCB, a high friction between pin and plated through-hole generates a homogeneous cold-welding between materials. This results in a gastight, strong mechanical connection with contact resistance less than 200 µOhm. No other technology transfers power up to 500 A at lowest heat development.

A single solid press pin has a typical extraction force of 100 N or approximately the same of the insertion force. Therefore, press-fit connections are predestined to provide not only electrical but also extraordinary strong mechanical connection solutions for electrical components.

REDCUBE PLUG

The new quick and easy pluggable solution REDCUBE PLUG – consists of a REDCUBE PRESS-FIT. Therefore, no additional tools are necessary. The housing material is glass fiber-reinforced plastic, has high heat resistance and withstands deformation at high ambient temperatures.

Pushing by hand on the top of the housing allows putting-in the corresponding plug. After actuating, the spring returns to its initial position and locks the plug automatically at two positions into the plastic housing. Removing the plug works in the opposite direction. A hexagonal crimping connects plug and cable with each other. The special plating and surface post-treatment of the plug prevents cracking of the surface during the crimping process.

REDCUBE SMD and THR

REDCUBE SMD is the result of the consistent advancement of Wurth Electronics products for the benefit of their customers. Wurth Electronics combines the advantage of a fully automated pick and place mounting in conjunction with high-current technology. Assembling the components within seconds off the roll onto the PCB and subsequently soldering them with all other SMD parts is an advantage in the mounting process.

The small size of REDCUBE SMD and large area connection to the pad achieves a low contact resistance and low self-heating. This allows a high packing density without critical heat development on the PCB. REDCUBE SMD provides power up to 70 A, depending on the layout. At the same time, the components offer high holding forces and torques. With the enlargement of the new angled REDCUBE SMD version, 90° Board-to-Board as well as Wire-to-Board connection is possible.

REDCUBE THR

REDCUBE THR combines the advantage of Through-Hole Technology – the high mechanical stability – with the timesaving pick and place mounting and efficient reflow soldering. The parts have a special design for best soldering results and currents up to 85 A. Milling from solid REDCUBE THR guarantees high ampacity with much better torques compared to stamped contacts.

REDCUBE THR is designed for reflow soldering. For a selected range, wave soldering is possible.
