Monolithic Power Systems’ step-down converter with built-in MOSFET

Included in the device is a built-in MOSFET causing the device to need a minimal number of external components. The device achieves a 0.5 A peak-output current over an input supply range of 4.5 V to 50 V with excellent line and load regulation. Fault condition protections include cycle-by-cycle current limiting and thermal shutdown. Current mode operation eases loop stabilization and provides a fast transient response. The device operates in a wide range from -40°C to +125°C and is available in a TSOT23-6 package.
