FCT D-Sub Connectors and Associated Products

Molex’s FCT Electronics is a manufacturer of electrical connectors and associated products for the electronics industry. The FCT Electronics' product line-up includes a full line of D-Sub connectors, hoods and accessories, as well as high-voltage contacts and accessories to be used with these connectors. FCT Electronics was acquired in 2013 by Molex, one of the world's largest global manufacturers of interconnect products.

FCT's D-sub connector solutions meet DIN specifications and offer many different combinations of materials and plating options. For example, shells can be ordered in a non-magnetic version made of brass, which can be electroless nickel or gold plated for use in aerospace technology.

FCT's contacts range from coaxial contacts over high-current and high-voltage contacts to crimp contacts and pneumatic contacts. FCT offers contacts for every requirement. The contact product lines for coax with 50 or 75 Ω, high power up to 40 A, high voltage up to 3 kv, and pneumatic contacts were designed for use with the FCT mixed layout connector series. FCT's contacts are available in a variety of termination types such as solder or crimp. Signal contacts are machined brass to ensure up to 500 mating cycles and up to 7.5 A.

FCT's distinctive hood product range is comprised of metal, plastic, non-magnetic, waterproof, and metallized hoods that are a suitable solution for almost any requirement. Hoods are available in multiple sizes and designs. Metal hoods are especially suitable for rugged conditions. Plastic hoods are made of plastic and metallized plastic, and are designed with a straight as well as with an angled cable outlet. Non-magnetic hoods are designed for customized as well as universal applications used in medical, measurement and test engineering and in the aerospace industry.

FCT offers a variety of mechanic, pneumatic and hydraulic crimping tools and the associated inserts/fixtures. Installation and removal tools for MIL- and VG-approved connectors are made of different materials and available as single-, double-, or multi-purpose tools. Insertion and extraction tools as single, twin, or combination tools are also available.

Multiple accessories are available for FCT products including screw, slide, spring and latch locks, cable-to-cable connections, locking hook connections, FKT rubbing bushings, and crimping flanges.
