Image of Cornell Dubilier's Angstor® RA Series Multilayer Film CapacitorsCornell Dubilier’s RA series 125°C radial multilayer film capacitors offer high capacitance per unit volume, efficient use of PCB space, lower self-inductance compared to conventional wound film capacitors, and high self-resonant frequency (exceeding 10 MHz) allows higher frequency operation. The RA series have welded radial-leads in a slim rectangular package made with durable non-inductive construction. Their sizes vary based on values/ratings, ranging from 8.9 mm x 3.9 mm x 7.1 mm to 16.5 mm x 6.6 mm x 11.7 mm. The RA series is designed to maintain performance over a long life. They outperform MLCC devices and are ideal for high-rel, no-fail applications.

    • Assembled with a high laminating pressure to prevent air gaps between polyester film layers
    • Self-healing with no-short failure mode
    • Impregnated with a microcrystalline polymer sealant under vacuum for resistance to moisture
  • Very low ESR/ESL and high dv/dt
  • Meets MIL Std 202 Method 204D for vibration
  • Voltage rating: 100 VDC, 250 VDC, 400 VDC, and 500 VDC
  • RoHS compliant and wave-solderable
  • Capacitance range 0.1 µF to 10 µF
  • Operating temperature: -55°C to +125°C
  • Moisture resistance: +85°C/85% RH/21 days
  • Dissipation factor: ≤1.0% @ 25°C, 1 kHz
  • Self-inductance is only 2 nh to 6 nh (typical)
  • High-frequency response is similar to MLCCs with better performance
    • Capacitance is unaffected by applied bias voltage
    • Resists damage from pulses
    • No piezoelectric effect
    • No cracking
    • Greater lifespan
