The driver’s protection circuits include undervoltage lockout, overcurrent protection, and thermal shutdown protection. The overcurrent protection circuit can be disabled using external signals, enabling the avoidance of malfunction caused by inrush current when starting or stopping a motor. These protection options allow engineers to design a solution that shuts down in abnormal situations, which allows removal of the protective fuse from the motor power supply line.

The AP1010AEN is ideal for 12 V systems, such as white good household appliances. It is capable of driving two DC motors or one stepping motor. It is offered in an extremely small 16-pin QFN package over the temperature range of -30°C to +85°C.
