TPA2000D2EVM Filterless Class D Audio Power Amplifier Evaluation Module

Texas Instruments

The TPA2000D2 filterless class D stereo audio power amplifier evaluation module is a complete, 2 watt per channel class D stereo audio power amplifier that can operate without an output filter. It consists of the TI TPA2000D2 class D stereo 2-W audio power amplifier IC along with a small number of other parts mounted on a circuit board that measures approximately 2-1/4 inches by 1-1/2 inches.

Product Description

The TPA2000D2, is a stereo Class D audio power amplifier and the first device in TI's family of filter-free Class D audio amplifiers. The TPA2000D2 has an output power of 2 Watts RMS or of 4 Watts peak into 4 Ohm speakers. By eliminating the need for bulky LC output filters, TI's audio power amplifier enables designers to reduce board space and lower overall system costs by 40 percent while still maintaining the high efficiency associated with Class D amplifiers.
