Product Description

The GR3 Series Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs) was created specifically for LED lighting applications. The GR3 Series MLCCs from Murata were designed to be incorporated into LED lighting circuits immediately following the bridge rectification stage to provide DC supply smoothing and EMI filtering. These MLCCs are the choice of designers over standard ceramic capacitors because they are designed to reduce flicker and acoustic noise. Use of the GR3 series MLCCs over standard MLCCs has shown a 10dB reduction in acoustic noise. The GR3 series capacitors offer better DC bias and acoustic noise reduction than the X7R series.
