A hermetically sealed resistor may prevent moisture incursions but it's an exceptionally good resistor that maintains hermeticity under extreme conditions while holding its original resistance value after exposure to high temperatures as well as humidity. This test is on a VHP100 resistor. After 1 hour immersion in 100% humidity under high pressure within a pressure cooker exceeding 250⁰F (121⁰C) , the resistor is removed, returned to and measured at room temperature (+70⁰F/21⁰C) to confirm that the resistor experienced absolutely NO change in resistance from its initial value.
