The DV102411 Wi-Fi Comm Demo Board demonstrates how to enable Wi-Fi capability to an embedded application. The pre-programmed demonstration shows various Wi-Fi functionalities and features that are supported by the MRF24WB0MA RF Transceiver module. The Wi-Fi Comm demo application uses a mechanism called EasyConfig to allow for configuration of an embedded device on a wireless network. It utilizes the web server of the TCP/IP stack and a wireless ad hoc (independent basic service set) network to allow the user to input the desired network information from a client browser, and then reset the device to connect to the desired network.

The MRF24J40MA/B/Cmodules are agency certified 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.15.4 radio transceiver modules based on Microchip’s MRF24J40 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.15.4 radio transceiver IC. The MRF24J40MA and MRF24J40MB modules feature an integrated PCB antenna, while the MRF24J40MC has an external antenna connector and is intended for longer range applications. All 3 modules have matching RF circuitry, and support ZigBee™, MiWi™, MiWi P2P and MiWi PRO protocols. The MRF24J40MA/B/C Modules connect to hundreds of PIC® microcontrollers via a 4-wire SPI interface and are an ideal solution for wireless sensor networks, home automation, building automation and consumer applications.


Microchip MRF89XAM9A and MRF89XAM8A Sub-GHz Transceiver ModulesMRF89XAM9A and MRF89XAM8A Ultra Low Power Sub-GHz Transceiver Modules
The agency certified modules are based on the MRF89XA integrated ultra low-power, sub-GHz transceiver IC. Both modules support proprietary sub-GHz wireless protocols for MiWi, MiWi P2P and MiWi PRO and feature an integrated crystal, internal voltage regulator, matching circuitry and integrated PCB antenna. The MRF89XAM9A is a 915 MHz transceiver which is FCC and IC certified while the MRF89XAM8A is an 868 MHz transceiver which conforms to ETSI standard. These modules are compatible with hundreds of PIC microcontrollers via a 4-wire SPI interface and are ideal solutions for wireless sensor networks, home automation, building automation and consumer applications.
