Linear Regulator Drop-Ins are DC-DC non-isolated switching converters that are used to replace traditional Low Dropout Regulators (LDOs) such as LM78XX family. These devices are more efficient and often pin for pin compatible that the original LDO.

Some of RECOM's solutions, such as the R-78 switching regulator, have become industry standards. This has been confirmed by the fact that many of RECOM's competitors have copied the R-78.
