New Series of Silicon Oscillators for Fast Start Up & Power Down
A Start up time of 50 µs max is the key feature of Silicon Oscillators, driving customers away from the traditional Quartz and Ceramic Resonators (start up time over tens of ms). No external components are needed, thus allowing a reduced PCB space usage. Today, Silicon Oscillators are mostly used to clock mobile phones user interface, providing a faster start up to the final user. They are expected to significantly increase market share in other portable equipment and interfaces in the upcoming years. Other benefits of Silicon Oscillators include robustness to shock, vibration and humidity, which makes them ideal solutions for products that must be used in harsh environments.
