NXP offers demo boards for standard logic, high precision low-ohmic, and wideband analog switches. NXP’s high precision low-ohmic NX analog switches are ideal for audio applications, as the voltage drop across these switches is minimal. Wideband NX5 video switches can be used in video applications to switch the high quality analog and digital video signals. These boards can be used to conveniently evaluate the performance of standard logic devices and analog switches at different loads and supply voltages.

74LVC169: Synchronous pre-settable 4-bit binary counter

The 74LVC169 is a synchronous pre-settable 4-bit binary counter that features internal look-ahead carry circuitry for cascading in high-speed counting applications. Synchronous operation is provided by having all flip-flops clocked simultaneously so that the outputs (pins Q0 to Q3) change simultaneously with each other when instructed by the count-enable (pins CEP and CET) inputs and internal gating. This mode of operation eliminates the output counting spikes normally associated with asynchronous (ripple clock) counters. A buffered clock (pin CP) input triggers the four flip-flops on the LOW-to-HIGH transition of the clock.

The counter is fully programmable, as the outputs may be preset to any number between 0 and its maximum count of 15. Presetting is synchronous with the clock and takes place regardless of the levels of the count enable inputs. A LOW level on the parallel enable (pin PE) input disables the counter and causes the data at the Dn input to be loaded into the counter on the next LOW-to-HIGH transition of the clock. The direction of the counting is controlled by the up/down (pin U/D) input. When pin U/D is HIGH, the counter counts up, and when LOW, it counts down.

NX5DV330: Quad 1-of-2 video multiplexer/demultiplexer

The low ON resistance of the NX5DV330 allows inputs to be connected to outputs without adding propagation delay or generating additional ground bounce noise. It has a digital select input (S), four independent inputs/outputs (nY0, nY1), a common input/output (nZ), and an active LOW enable input. When pin E is HIGH, the switch is turned off.

Schmitt-trigger action at the enable input (E) and select input (S) makes the circuit tolerant to slower input rise and fall times across the entire VCC range of 4.0V to 5.5V. The NX5DV330 is characterized for operation from -40°C to +85°C.

AUP1Z04: Low power crystal driver with enable pin and integrated biasing resister

The 74AUP1Z04 combines the functions of the 74AUP1GU04 and 74AUP1G04 with enable circuitry and an internal bias resistor to provide a device optimized for use in crystal oscillator applications. When not in use, the EN input can be driven HIGH, pulling up the X1 input and putting the device in a low power disable mode. Schmitt trigger action at the EN input makes the circuit tolerant to slower input rise and fall times across the entire VCC range from 0.8V to 3.6V.

This device is fully specified for partial power-down applications using IOFF at output Y. The IOFF circuitry disables the output Y, preventing the damaging backflow current through the device when it is powered down. The integration of the two devices into the 74AUP1Z04 produces the benefits of a compact footprint, lower power dissipation.

NX3L2G66: Dual low-ohmic, single-pole, single-throw analog switch

The NX3L2G66 can be used to evaluate the NX3L2G66, a dual SPST analog switch with low ON resistance and over supply voltage tolerant control inputs. The NX3L2G66 provides two low-ohmic, single pole, single throw analog switch functions. Each switch has two input/output terminals (nY and nZ) and an active HIGH enable input (nE). When pin nE is LOW, the analog switch is turned off. Schmitt-trigger action at the enable input (nE) makes the circuit tolerant to slower input rise and fall times across the entire VCC range from 1.4V to 4.3V. The NX3L2G66 allows signals with amplitude up to VCC to be transmitted from nY to nZ; or from nZ to nY. Its low ON resistance (0.5Ω) and flatness (0.13Ω) ensures minimal attenuation and distortion of transmitted signals.

74LVC2G66: High bandwidth, dual SPST analog switch

This compact demo board can be used to evaluate the performance of 74LVC2G66. LVC2G66 is ideal for switching analog and digital data signals and offers -3dB bandwidth of 500MHz at a load of 50Ω and a typical RON of 7.8Ω at VCC of 3V.

A supply voltage of 1.65V to 5.5V can be used for the board. Signals in the range of 0V to VCC can be connected to nY pins and switched to output nZ pins and vice versa with minimal loss. There are two channels in the 74LVC2G66 switch, and maximum input frequency for each channel can be as high as 500MHz at a load of 50Ω and 5pF. A decoupling capacitor of 0.1µF is connected between VCC and GND pins to smooth out the power rail. By default, 1kΩ pull-down resistors are connected between 1E, 2E line, and GND to avoid floating enable pins, and both switches are OFF/ open. Additional connectors (JP1 and JP2) with VCC and GND pins are provided to easily connect enable pins and GND leads of oscilloscope probes onboard.

LVCV2G66 is ideal for switching analog and digital data signals and offers -3dB bandwidth of 200MHz at a load of 600Ω and a typical RON of 8.3Ω at VCC of 3V. A supply voltage of 2.3V to 5.5V can be used for the board. Signals in the range of 0V to VCC can be connected to nY pins and switched to output nZ pins with minimal loss.
