In addition to offering a broad range of off-the-shelf products, we can provide application specific solutions for your latest designs. The offering consists of:

General Purpose Voltmeters
DATEL voltmeters are a good solution for applications requiring a precise digital readout of AC or DC voltages.
  • Typical mounting options include 12-pin DIPs and traditional bezel/case assemblies which simplify panel mounting
  • AC-input options include average or rms-responding inputs
  • Self-powered, 2-wire models contain only two connections since they are powered directly from the signal they are measuring, making them ideal for new installations or as modern replacements for analog panel meters
  • Digital options include 3½ or 4½ digit, LED or LCD displays which can be operated from AC (85-264V) or DC (+5V to +40V) power sources
  • For harsh environments, users can choose from several bezel options that feature rubber gaskets and secure threaded metal fasteners

Ammeters
For measuring AC or DC currents, DATEL ammeters feature easy set up and installation, and typically require no additional components or user set up. Average responding or true-rms inputs can measure currents up to 100A with a built in current transformer and up to 2000A with external 5A CTs.

  • AC ammeters with built-in current transformers (CTs) greatly simplify current measurement applications. Most installations require just three connections: two for supplying operating power, and one for the current being measured. All models feature easy-to-read LED displays and sturdy terminal block connections.
  • DC ammeters are available with built-in shunts capable of measuring currents from 200uA up to 20A. For higher currents, models are specifically designed to accept inputs from external 50mV DC shunts, enabling these models to measure up to 2000Adc.

ACA5-20RM Series - High Current, True-rms Responding AC Ammeters with 5A Inputs


Murata Power Solutions ACA5-20RM ProductModern electronic equipment utilizes switching power supplies. These “switchers,” typically have distorted input currents which do not resemble the ideal, universally recognized, “sine wave” shape. Average-responding AC ammeters (the least expensive and most common digital ammeters on the market) produce accurate readings only when measuring ideal sine-wave shaped waveforms. When average-responding ammeters measure distorted or irregularly shaped currents (triangular, square, etc.), reading errors can exceed 20% of their full scale input.

When operated within its listed specifications, a true-rms responding ammeter’s accuracy is not sensitive to the shape of the current waveform. True-rms current measurements are very important in applications involving switching supplies and any other equipment which produces distorted waveforms. Using an AC ammeter that provides accurate, true-rms measurements, such as the ACA5-20RM Series, can significantly reduce inadvertent overloading of circuit breakers or fuses which can cause costly power outages.

ACA-20RM-ALM Series - True-rms AC Ammeters with Visual Overcurrent Alarm Function


Murata Power Solutions ACA-20RM-ALM ProductTrue-rms current measurements are very important in applications involving switching supplies and other equipment that produces distorted waveforms. Unlike average-responding ammeters, an AC ammeter that combines accurate, true-rms measurements with a visual indication, which warns technical personnel that a power distribution branch-circuit is overloaded, can significantly reduce inadvertent power outages. It would also be beneficial if this ammeter could have an overcurrent alarm set-point accurately adjusted at zero load current or with an actual ‘live load’ current. Further enhancing its functionality would be the availability of a built-in, ‘clamp-on’ style, split-core CT to simplify connections to live loads.

Murata Power Solution’s new ACA-20RM Series are one of the world’s first digital AC ammeters to incorporate a built-in current transformer (CT) to directly measure the true-rms value of complex, non-sinusoidal AC currents from 2 to 50A – no bulky and expensive 5A “donut” CTs are required! Operation and setup is straightforward: simply pass the load-carrying wire through the on-board CT, apply power, and the ammeter is fully operational.

DMS-20PC Series - Low-Power Blue and Green LED Display Digital Voltmeters


Murata Power Solutions DMS-20PC ProductDMS-20PC Series, 3½ Digit, LED Display, Digital Panel Voltmeters combine a precision A/D converter, a factory-trimmed, highly stable, voltage reference, and a large (0.37"/9.4mm), easy-to-read LED display in a single package that is only slightly larger than the display itself. These low-cost meters are fully self-contained and fully functional. Their subminiature (1.38" x 0.88" x 0.48"), silicone-encapsulated cases incorporate built-in color filters and bezels; are moisture and vibration proof; and function well in the harshest environments.

Low-power green and blue LEDs have long been on customers' "want" lists. Advances in LED technology now allow for blue and green low-power modules.

DMS-20RM Series - True-rms AC Voltmeters with Isolated Inputs


Murata Power Solutions DMS-20RM ProductAverage-responding AC voltmeters produce accurate readings only when measuring ideal sine-wave voltages. When average-responding voltmeters measure distorted or irregularly shaped voltages, reading errors can easily exceed 20% of their full scale input. Until now, all of our AC voltmeters were 2-wire, average-responding types. In addition to not being able to accurately display complex AC signals, by design 2-wire meters cannot measure signals down to zero volts since these meters also draw all of their operating power directly from the signal being measured (i.e., they’re “self-powered”). DMS-20RM Series AC voltmeters overcome the limitations of other meters because they feature both true rms-responding inputs and an independent power supply, all in a compact unit that is size compatible with our popular true-rms AC ammeters.
