First Robotics Competition
"The varsity Sport for the Mind," FRC combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Under strict rules, limited resources, and time limits, teams of 25 students or more are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program robots to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. It's as close to "real-world engineering" as a student can get.
Students thrive in a competitive, real-world environment and FIRST Robotics offers a unique opportunity for kids to step out of their day-to-day routine and try something new. FIRST is a hands-on experience that gives young people the chance to experience a "day-in-the-life" of an engineer and many will go away inspired. This kind of real-world learning can spark a life-changing passion for technology and Digi-Key is pleased to be a support such a unique opportunity for our future generation of engineers.
