Hi Guys, so my friend and I were talking and we came around to Electromagnetic waves. On the spectrum, on one end you have micro and radio waves, on the other end you have UV and X ray and other, why is it that these waves are able to penetrate objects, and visible light do not?
Or is there something wrong with my premise? Could anyone please clarify.
The ability to pass through matter is basically a funtion of a waves abilty to pass between atoms. The small holes on a microwave screen door are large enough to allow light waves pass through, but the distance betwen peaks of micro-waves themselves prevent them from pass through.
