Cat knocked the monitor over and the thing cracked pretty good. Already picked up a replacement - can I take the old one apart and do anything with it or is it just junk?
There isn't much point in trying to replace a cracked screen, it would be very expensive. Best option would be to scrap it responsibly.
Here's a little info on recycling from one company in Florida. It's possible someone in your area may do a similar thing.
When you say do anything, do you mean reuse for another project or create something new with?
More so curious about whether or not there's anything I can do with the parts behind the screen. The screen, I get, is junk, and has already been tossed in the trashed, but when I took it off, there's just so many components, I feel like it'd be such a waste to throw everything out. Looking for project ideas :-)
What do you think your cat wanted to make out of it, and isn't your use of EMACScad affected? Kitty disco or DJ backlight? A bench supply for 20W benches? Phone cosplay pinup/charging station? Mockup for making the replacement more catproof? Take the cat's stash of catnip or alfalfa out?
If nothing else, sell the remaining parts on eBay.
