Hello Everyone, I am currently in a project that would use a mains transformers in reverse. The project is basically a microphone power supply. I was then adviced that the 60Hz transformer will not work well at 100KHz, since the core would incure very high losses, and it would be better to wind my own transformer or have one specifically made for my design.
I haven't wound my own TX before, and that sounds like somethng fun to do, so I'd like to ask for some help. Where do you start? How would you calculate the frequency and what materials are best used?
These two are very good and in depth guides on making transformers... altho I would advice it would be better to just have them made so that they are made with more precision as well as reducing the chances of accidents... good luck on whatever you are doing. cheers!
