I currently have a hall sensor with 12v supply, running off the engine ecu and ignition circuits for power. I need to take a separate signal ouput and configure correctly to operate a separate frequency meter from 0-200hz. Out put is a 12v square wave 0hz-200hz, but i do not know how to make the frequency meter read this, as the frequency meter has its own sensor terminals. Could someone please draw up the parts i need.
Running a separate hall sensor is not an option unfortunately
The signal input on the frequency meter is at +5v and needs to be grounded to count each pulse for frequency
My drawing as below with the hall sensor drawn as per the manufacturers specs.
just to be sure i am understanding, the voltage going to the voltage divider is the existing signal wire? then using the signal ground on the frequency meter as the reference, and voltage out on voltage divider going to the signal input on the frequency meter? cheers
