Connecting Two 16x4 lcd Displays to One Microcontroller

Hello Everyone, I am involved in a butterfly project that you might have read about in a previous post. What we are trying to do now is after reading the sensors, aside from the alarm, we want to connect the microcontroller to two LCD displays that would tell us where in the garden the new butterfly is emerging (we put the sensors in different areas since there a few areas where the Chrysallises are located).


Can anyone help me with this, specially with the brand of LCD to use and the implementation. I have been able to connect an LCD before, but it was just one and it was a long time ago, so I might need to review. any links and resources is appreciated. Thanks!

    If you're using HD44780-compatible character LCDs (the most common  type AFAIK), you could share RS and D4-D7 (4-bit) or D0-D7 (8-bit)  between all of the displays and use separate outputs on your  microcontroller for each display's E input.  In 4-bit mode, that'll let  you drive two displays with seven output lines.


    In this design,  I'm using a single 8x2 LCD in an Arduino-ish design. If I had need for a  second LCD, I'd add it as described above, using one of the unused  digital inputs.
