I just have a quick question. I have a Buck Regulator to drive a string of LEDs and everything seems to be in order except that the inductor is making a noise. When I increase the brightness the noise also increases, and accordingle, it also decreases when i decrease the light.
Inductors make magnetic fields, which exert mechanical forces, which can be coupled through the air as noise. What you describe is quite common, and also occurs with ceramic capacitors based on EIA class II and III dielectrics as well due to the piezoelectric effect.
