Substation Engineers

So I was wondering about Substation Engineers, and what it is exactly that they do. It's not something that you hear often and I wanted to know what their job descriptions would be and other job titles that best describe what a Substation Engineer is. Any further information on the field would be great!

When I read your question, I have never heard of a Substation Engineer before and became curious. I searched for a bit and this is what I found:

-they are in charge of performing all-inclusive design of medium to high voltage substations.

-physical layout design, specifications of equipment, electrical and construction diagrams

    - deal with electrical elements like condiut and cable sizing, grounding and lighting protection.

    -project management

there aren't a lot of listings for position but from what i can see those are common requirements. And it relates to Electrical Power Transmission so knowledge and background on that as well is good.

The substation is part of the generation, trabsmission and distribution of electricity. Think of the substation as a halfway point between the generator and the consumer, the voltage transformed from high to low or vice versa. The Sub Engineer will take charge of this operation and other important roles.
