SD Card to computer - bypass the arduino

I saw this module on eBay:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-SD-Card-Module-Slot-Socket-Reader-For-Arduino-ARM-MCU-Read-And-Write-/251513265086?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a8f5bdbbe

Now I'm curious if I could use this module directly with my computer instead of going through an arduino.  Is this possible?

SD Card to computer - bypass the arduino

Hey Riley, technically it's possible and it may be easier than I'd think. But it seems like there would be some driver issues on your computer to get the interface between your operating system and the module.  If you're doing this for fun, it could be an interesting challenge.  If you're doing it to save money, it's probably worth your time to simply buy another cheap SD Card reader.
