I have a plating fixture for metalizing wafers that I would like to simplify the electrical contact.
I can't locate what I am looking for in the catalogs under any common headings.
I have a gold plating fixture in need of an electrical contact. It cannot move during plating and needs to be light enough not to damage the 100 mm wafer; it also needs to be fairly simple to load and unload.
I think a spring clip will do the job, but I can't find one that will lock in place and complete a circuit. Any ideas?
It depends on the current and how much damage to the wafer contact area is permissible. For example, common wafer probe wires will contact (and mar) just a 25u x 25u pad. An alternative that you can implement yourself is a spring loaded Pogo Pin such as the ones from MILL-MAX.
Digikey stocks nearly 100 different MILL-MAX spring loaded contacts.
