|URG Series - The URG series of thin-film chip resistors has the reliability-enhanced version of Susumu’s RG series resistors. In addition to providing absolute resistance tolerance of +/-0.01% and a temperature coefficient resistance of +/- 2 ppm, the URG series offers far better reliability than the RG series whose reliability is already significantly higher than other thin-film chip resistors. For example, the maximum drift by load life test and high-temperature exposure test (test method: MIL-PRF-55342/JIS C5201-1) is specified as +/- 0.02% (0.1% for RG series).
|PXV Series Thermo-variable Attenuators - Susumu's thermo-variable attenuators decrease their attenuation as temperature increases, thus providing compensation for temperature sensitive amplifiers such as GaAs-type amplifiers whose output decreases with rising temperature.
|PAT Series Attenuators - Susumu's PAT series attenuators are thin film high performance attenuators with excellent accuracy, reliability, stability, and frequency performance with minimal temperature related variability. One attenuator can replace three discreet components, which simplifies circuit design and saves space. One application for these devices is gain adjustment and impedance matching in high frequency circuits. Because control circuits need signals with identical levels, and a receiver receives signals with different signal levels, signal levels could be adjusted by combining SMT attenuators and amplifiers.

In 1964, in the midst of Japan's rapid economic and industrial growth, two young physicist/engineers had an innovative idea to create resistors using thin films deposited using vacuum technology. They started a new technology company called Susumu, meaning “moving forward” in Japanese, in Kyoto Japan. Coincidentally, it was the year of the Tokyo Olympic Games when Japan proved to the rest of the world how mature her technology had become. Since then, Susumu has been continuously introducing innovative electronics components backed by its core technology, thin film deposition. By the year 2000, Susumu's world market share in thin film resistors exceeded 50% and Susumu is maintaining this position to this day. Susumu has been an expert in a variety of thin film deposition techniques such as sputtering, vacuum evaporation, chemical vapor deposition, ion plating, and electro plating. Susumu has also accumulated other core technologies that are combined with thin film technology to produce innovative high technology electronics components. These technologies include fine pitch photolithography, micro-laser machining, and high density packaging. For a relatively small company, research and development have been Susumu's primary focus from its inception because Susumu realized that this was the key for developing new technologically advanced products. As a Japanese company, Susumu's company philosophy is built around total quality control. Taking advantage of Japanese traditional culture which forbids outside shoes worn inside the house, the factory is free of foreign material even outside of the clean rooms, a key to the production of thin film. No one is permitted to enter the factory wearing the shoes they wear outdoors. Since the ISO standard system was introduced in Japan, Susumu has been one of early adaptors for these international quality standards. Susumu's certification includes ISO9000, ISO14000, and TS 16949. From the beginning, quality has been essential part of life at Susumu.
