8-bit Microcontrollers

RS08 - The RS08 core is a reduced version of the S08 central processing unit (CPU) that has been specifically designed for small pin-count devices with under 16KB memory. Thirty percent smaller than the S08 CPU, it is more efficient and cost-effective for simple electro-mechanical devices that are migrating to fully solid-state electronic operation or portable devices that have evolved into smaller or even disposable versions.

HCS08 - High-performance and low power, the HCS08 does not sacrifice performance to provide low power 1.8 V operation.  HCS08 features multiple power management modes, including a 20 nanoamp (nA) power-down mode. 

  • A zero-component auto-wakeup from "stop" to help reduce costs and reduce power to 0.7 microamp (uA) - Up to 40 MHz CPU/20 MHz bus at 2.1 V and 16 MHz CPU/8 MHz bus at 1.8 V.
  • A programmable internal clock generator with temperature and voltage compensation (typical drift < 2%) designed for reliable communications, fast start up and reduced system cost.
  • In-application reprogramming and data storage via third-generation 0.25µ flash technology.
  • High integration including four serial communication ports, up to 8 timer/PWMs, and an 8-channel 10-bit analog-to-digital converter specified down to 1.8 V.
HC08 - The HC08 Family of MCUs is designed to meet all your 8-bit microcontroller needs, from tiny 8-pin QFN to 64-pin quad flat packages, flash to ROM, and from 1 KB to 60 KB of memory. The HC08 Family features peripherals such as in-circuit reprogrammable FLASH, 8- or 10-bit A/D converters, multichannel timers, CAN, LIN, J1850, SCI/ESCI/SLIC supporting LIN protocol, SPI and EEPROM. There are also many devices targeted for specific applications, such as LIN, motor control and RF. All HC08 MCUs utilize the enhanced M68HC08 central processor unit (CPU08) and are available with a variety memory sizes and types, modules and package types.

The Flexis™ QE Microcontroller Family - Flexis™ QE is taking the lead in low power.  The QE family is comprised of a pin-compatible 8-bit and 32-bit device duo.  The S08QE128 pushes the boundaries of the 8-bit architecture performance with 128Kb of Flash, 24 ADC channels and delivering up 25MHz in bus frequency.  The 32-bit MCF51QE128 is pin-, peripheral- and tool-compatible with the 8-bit S08QE128 device. They share a common set of peripherals and development tools delivering the ultimate in migration flexibility.

The MPR083 is an Inter-Integrated Circuit Communication (I2C) driven Capacitive Touch Sensor Controller, optimized to manage an 8-position rotary shaped capacitive array. The device can accommodate a wide range of implementations through 3 output mechanisms, and many configurable options.  (devices:  MPR083, MPR084 tools:KITMPR083EVM, KITMPR084EVM, KITPROXIMITYEVM, DEMOMPR083).

Fully Customizable Battery Charger ICs featuring the highest accuracy in the industry.  Lithium-ion (Li-Ion) batteries require extremely accurate charging current and output voltages to optimize battery life and performance. To address this need, NXP has a family of battery charger ICs designed to provide the industry’s highest performance and accuracy, as well as exceptional configuration flexibility.  (devices: MC34671, MC34673, MC34674, MC34675, tools: KIT34671EPEVBE, KIT34673EPEVBE.

The MRF6V2300NR1 and MRF6V2300NBR1 are designed primarily for CW large-signal output and driver applications with frequencies up to 600 MHz. Devices are unmatched and are suitable for use in industrial, medical and scientific applications.  NXP has a comprehensive portfolio of broadcast devices to support the needs of FM, VHF and UHF transmitter equipment. NXP's technical expertise delivers RF high power transistors for broadcast communication systems that combine performance, linearity, efficiency and ruggedness to meet your needs.

The MP3V5050V sensor integrates on-chip, bipolar op amp circuitry and thin film resistor networks to provide a high output signal and temperature compensation. The small form factor and high reliability of on-chip integration make the NXP Semiconductor, Inc. pressure sensor a logical and economical choice for the system designer.

High Performance, Low Power MPC8313E Leads the Way to Secure, Rich Home and Business Experiences.  Many segments of the networking industry are moving toward supporting more feature-rich services while requiring the need for lower power processors. NXP has designed and brought to market the MPC8313E: a processor that meets performance, power and security needs for digital media servers, consumer network-attached storage, office and industrial applications. And, with its heritage based on Power Architecture™ technology, this processor helps to assure designers of easy scalability and integration, resulting in a quick development cycle.

The MMA7361L and MMA7331L are low power, low profile capacitive micromachined accelerometers featuring signal conditioning, a 1-pole low pass filter, temperature compensation, self test, 0g-detect which detects linear freefall, and g-Select which allows for the selection between 2 sensitivities. Zero-g offset and sensitivity are factory set and require no external devices. The MMA7361L includes a sleep mode that makes it ideal for handheld battery powered electronics.
