|SAM G Cortex™-M4-Based MCUs - Atmel's SAM G family comes in two series, the SAM G51, and SAM G53. These devices are fully-compatible, even down to the WLCSP package. The SAM G family is all about low-power. There are three main areas that the SAM G is optimized for: active, deep-sleep with SRAM retention, and wake-up time. For most battery-powered applications these three figures are what affect the system power consumption. Both the G51 and G53 embed a Cortex-M4 CPU with an FPU (floating-point-unit).

|SAM D20 Xplained Pro Evaluation Kit - The SAM D20 Xplained Pro evaluation kit is ideal for evaluation and prototyping with the SAM D20 Cortex™-M0+ processor-based microcontrollers. Extension boards to the SAM D20 Xplained Pro can be purchased individually. The board gives access to all IO pins, as well as some buttons and LEDs, and offers expansion possibilities with its multiple extension ports. Code can easily be moved from the SAM D20 Xplained Pro to your target device, as the SAM D20 devices are binary-compatible. The board’s embedded debugger and programmer work directly with development tools, eliminating the need for a third-party debugger or programmer.

AVR® 8-bit Microcontrollers
Atmel's AVR® 8-bit microcontrollers have a RISC core running single cycle instructions and a well-defined I/O structure that limits the need for external components. Internal oscillators, UART, SPI, pull-up resistors, High Speed PWM, ADC, USB and CAN are some of the features you will find in AVR devices. AVR Flash MCUs are available up to 256K flash and are available in 8 to 100 pin variations. Our Industry Leading Pico Power Technology™ Products is Ideal for Low Power Applications with features such as is a very Zero current 32kHz oscillator, Sleeping BOD, Power Reduction Register (PRR), Digital Input Disable Register (DIDR), Flash sampling, 1.8V operation and Power save mode decreased to 0.4uA from 0.6uA.

Atmel has created the first processor architecture for 21st century applications that require both performance and low power consumption. The AVR32 32-bit RISC processor core is designed to do more processing per clock cycle so the same throughput can be achieved at a lower clock frequency. In fact, the AVR32 CPU executes about three times as much processing per clock cycle as its nearest competitor. This means the compute intensive algorithms required for today's applications can be executed at a lower clock rate, with substantially less power consumption.
