The AFE4490 is a fully-integrated analog front-end (AFE) that is ideally suited for pulse-oximeter applications. The device consists of a low-noise receiver channel with a 22-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), an LED transmit section, and diagnostics for sensor and LED fault detection. The AFE4490 is a very configurable timing controller. This flexibility enables the user to have complete control of the device timing characteristics. To ease clocking requirements and provide a low-jitter clock to the AFE4490, an oscillator is also integrated that functions from an external crystal. The ADS1198 is part of a family of multichannel, simultaneous sampling, 16-bit, delta-sigma (ΔΣ) ADCs with a built-in programmable gain amplifier (PGA), internal reference, and an onboard oscillator. It has a flexible input multiplexer per channel that can be independently connected to the internally-generated signals for test, temperature, and lead-off detection. Additionally, any configuration of input channels can be selected for derivation of the right leg drive (RLD) output signal. The ADS1198 operates at data rates as high as 8kSPS, thereby allowing the implementation of software pace detection. Lead-off detection can be implemented internal to the device, either with a pull-up/pull-down resistor or an excitation current sink/source. Three integrated amplifiers generate the Wilson Center Terminal (WCT) and the Goldberger terminals (GCT) required for a standard 12-lead medical ECG.

The ADS1293 incorporates all features commonly required in portable, low-power medical, sports and fitness ECG applications. With high levels of integration and exceptional performance, the ADS1293 enables the creation of scalable medical instrumentation systems at significantly reduced size, power, and overall cost. The ADS1293 features three high-resolution channels capable of operating up to 25.6ksps. Each channel can be independently programmed for a specific sample rate and bandwidth allowing users to optimize the configuration for performance and power. All input pins incorporate an EMI filter and can be routed to any channel via a flexible routing switch. Flexible routing also allows independent lead-off detection, right leg drive, and Wilson/Goldberger reference terminal generation without the need to reconnect leads externally. A fourth channel allows external analog pace detection for applications that do not utilize digital pace detection.

The AFE4300 is a low-cost analog front-end (AFE) incorporating two separate signal chains: one chain for weight-scale (WS) measurement and the other for body composition measurement (BCM) analysis. The AFE5809 is a highly integrated analog front end (AFE) solution specifically designed for ultrasound systems in which high performance and small size are required. The AFE5809 integrates a complete time-gain-control (TGC) imaging path and a continuous wave Doppler (CWD) path. It also enables users to select one of various power/noise combinations to optimize system performance. Therefore, the AFE5809 is a suitable ultrasound AFE solution not only for high-end systems, but also for portable ones. AFE5809 also includes a digital in-phase and quadrature (I/Q) demodulator and a low-pass decimation filter. The main purpose of the demodulation block is to reduce the LVDS data rate and improve overall system power efficiency.

The device integrates an internal reference trimmed to accurately match across devices. Best performance is expected to be achieved through the internal reference mode. However, the device can be driven with external references as well. Several digital functions that are commonly used in systems are included in the device. Using CMOS process technology and innovative circuit techniques, the ADS5263 is designed to operate at low power and give very high SNR performance with a 4-Vpp full-scale input. Using a low-noise 16-bit front-end stage followed by a 14-bit ADC, the device gives 85-dBFS SNR up to 10 MHz and better than 80-dBFS SNR up to 30 MHz. The ADS5263 has a digital processing block that integrates several commonly used digital functions, such as digital gain (up to 12 dB). It includes a digital filter module that has built-in decimation filters (with low-pass, high-pass and band-pass characteristics). The decimation rate is also programmable (by 2, by 4, or by 8). This makes it very useful for narrow-band applications, where the filters can be used to improve SNR and knock-off harmonics, while at the same time reducing the output data rate.

The DDC264 is a 20-bit, 64-channel, current-input ADC. It combines both current-to-voltage and A/D conversion so that 64 separate low-level current output devices, such as photodiodes, can be directly connected to its inputs and digitized. For each of the 64 inputs, the DDC264 uses the proven dual switched integrator front-end. This configuration allows for continuous current integration: while one integrator is being digitized by the onboard ADC, the other is integrating the input current. This architecture provides both a very stable offset and a loss-less collection of the input current. Adjustable integration times range from 160µs to 1s, allowing currents from fAs to µAs to be continuously measured with outstanding precision.
