TDK-Lambda enhances their line of AC/DC DIN Rail Power Supplies
TDK-Lambda has expanded its impressive line of AC/DC DIN Rail products with the introduction of the DRB series high-efficiency AC-DC power supplies meet customers' energy-saving challenges.
Introducing New High Efficiency DRB Models
Designed to support the growing trend for simple and economic DIN power solutions in industrial, building automation and process control applications, the DRB series combines low cost and extremely compact dimensions with industry leading efficiency of up to 91%. No load power consumption is between <0.3W and <0.5W depending on the model type.
Housed in a robust plastic case, the DRB series offer a narrow design, ranging from 18mm to 45mm, saving vital space on the DIN rail. The smallest model measures just 18mm x 75mm x 90mm (DRB15-24-1); all DRB models will mount on either a TS35/7.5 or TS35/15 DIN rail offering engineers a flexible option for various applications. In addition, they have been rigorously tested for shock and vibration while mounted onto the rail.
The supplies operate from a universal input of 85~264VAC and have EN61000-3-2 compliance, enabling worldwide use; moreover, they can withstand input voltage surges of 300VDC for 5 seconds. The DRB series is available with 4 output power levels ranging from 15 – 100W and nominal output voltages of 5V, 12-15V, 24-28V or 48VDC.
The supplies can operate at full load over a wide temperature range of -10 to +55°C (+70°C for 15W model). Typical ripple and noise is below 40mV and a green LED indicates DC OK. Other features include over-current, over-voltage protection and a hold-up time of up to 20ms at 100VAC input voltage, full load.
The DRB series is approved to UL508 safety standard for industrial control equipment. Further safety approvals include IEC/EN 60950-1 (2nd Ed.) and UL/CSA 60950-1. CE marked in accordance with the LV Directive, EMC Directive and RoHS Directive, the power supplies are designed to meet EN55022 and CISPR22 Class B for conducted and radiated EMI, and come with a three-year warranty.Features & Benefits
DPP 3-Phase Series DIN Rail Mount Power Supplies
TDK-Lambda has released a new series of AC-DC DIN Rail-Mount power supplies with outputs rated from 120 to 480-watts that operate off a 3-phase AC line input from 340 to 575 VAC. These models are ideal for factory automation, industrial control systems and test and measurement equipment.
Each series are available with the most popular output voltages: 12VDC and 24VDC outputs are available in the DPP120 series (rated at 120W) plus 24VDC and 48VDC outputs are available in the DPP240 series (rated at 240W) and the DPP480 series (rated at 480W). An important feature of these new units is their bi-phase operation; under a dropped phase condition they will continue to operate with the output power derated to 80%. All models incorporate power factor correction in accordance with EN61000-3-2.
Output voltages can be adjusted to allow for the voltage drop in cables and similar factors. Load regulation is ±1% when the supplies are used individually and ±5% when two supplies are connected in parallel for higher power applications.
For additional convenience in control and automation applications, the 24V model includes a voltage monitoring (DC Good) relay. The relay contacts are rated at 0.3A and they close when the output voltage is above 17.6V to 19.4VDC; this can be useful in protecting devices such as sensors and solenoids that may be unpredictable at reduced voltages, i.e., below their nominal 24V rating.
Further features of these DPP 3-phase series include over current protection, over voltage protection and over temperature protection with auto recovery. The operating temperature range of the power supplies is from -25°C to +71°C.
These new DPP 3-phase series power supplies from TDK-Lambda meet EN55022 Class B EMI standards (radiated and conducted), are CE marked, and are safety-approved to UL/EN60950-1 and UL508 specifications. All models are suitable for either TS35/7.5 or TS35/15 DIN-Rail mounting, and have a robust metal case with convenient screw terminal connections. All models carry a two-year warranty.
DPP Low-Power DIN Rail Power Supplies
TDK-Lambda has introduced a family of DIN rail-mount power supplies available with a choice of 5-, 12-, 15-, 24- and 48-volt outputs. The low-power DPP series is an economical solution specifically designed for light industrial applications such as chemical processing, automotive and instrumentation.
TDK-Lambda's new DPP series consists of eight models – enclosed in rugged plastic cases – in three package sizes. The DPP15 can provide 15 watts of power in a compact 2.95 x 0.9 x 3.81 inches, models DPP30-50 up to 50W (2.95 x 1.77 x 3.58 inches), and the DPP100 up to 100W (2.95 x 2.86 x 3.81 inches).
Each model can operate worldwide without the need for pre-selecting the AC input range. Models DPP15-50 can accept a broad range of 85 to 264 volts AC, the DPP100 automatically selects between 85-132VAC and 176-264VAC, and all models can accept a DC input voltage.
The new power supplies feature a low ripple and noise of up to 50 millivolts and are protected against overload and over-voltage conditions. All models are approved to UL508, UL60950 and EN60950 specifications. The units are convection cooled and can operate at full power over a wide temperature range of –10°C to +60°C, derating linearly at 5% of a degree above 60°C to 71°C.
Low-Profile DIN Rail-Mount Power Supplies
TDK-Lambda has introduced a series of low-profile DIN rail-mount power supplies only 2.2 inches deep, making them ideal for installation in shallow enclosures commonly used in building automation and security applications.
The new DSP series supplies are available with nominal outputs from 5 to 24 volts and power levels from 10 to 100 watts in four packages sizes. Load regulation is less than 1% from no load to full load, with ripple and noise below 50 millivolts. To compensate for cable voltage drops, the output voltage can be adjusted from the front panel, and colored LED indicators give an immediate visual confirmation of output status.
The power supplies feature universal input, allowing them to operate from any AC input voltage between 90 to 264VAC, 47 to 63Hz, without the need to reposition input voltage selector switches. Because the units are Class II (double insulated), no earth ground wire is required.
Models are approved to UL60950-1, EN60950-1 and UL1310 specifications (less than 4- amp units) and are listed to UL508. The supplies are convection cooled and can operate at full power over a wide temperature range of -25°C to +61°C, derating linearly at 2.5% of a degree above 61°C to 71°C.
The units are enclosed in a plastic case measuring just 0.71 x 3.58 x 2.2 inches (10W models) to 3.54 x 3.58 x 2.2 inches (100W models) and will mount on either a TS35/7.5 or TS35/15 DIN rail.
DIN-Rail Mount 40-60W DC-DC Converters
TDK-Lambda Americas has introduced the new DPX Series to satisfy customer demand for DC-DC converters that can be easily mounted onto DIN rails. Available with both 2:1 and 4:1 input voltage ranges covering from 9.5V to 75V, with 40 to 60W output ratings, this new series provides an economical solution for industrial and commercial applications such as process control, factory automation, test and measurement, as well as for alarm and security systems.
The DPX models are available with single, dual or triple outputs. The single output models are available with an output voltage of 5V, 12V or 15V and the dual-output models have ±12V or ±15V outputs. The triple-output models provide a +5V main with either ±12V or ±15V outputs. The single output models can be adjusted ±10% of its nominal output via a front-panel mounted potentiometer. Plus, a green LED indicator on the front panel gives an immediate visual confirmation of the output status.
The DPX Series of DC-DC converters are enclosed in a rugged metal case and can be mounted on either a TS35/7.5 or TS35/15 standard DIN rail. Typical operating efficiencies are up to 86%. All DPX models feature reverse-input-polarity protection, remote On/Off control, 1.6kV input to output isolation and are internally protected from overvoltage and overcurrent conditions.
These power supplies are convection cooled and operate over a wide temperature range from -40 to +85°C. The series also meets EN55022 Level B EMI standards (radiated and conducted), MIL-STD-810F shock & vibration and are CE-marked in accordance with the LV Directives.
