Xilinx's Kintex™-7 FPGAs establish a new category of FPGAs with high-end performance at less than half the price. The Kintex-7 family is one of three product families built on a common 28nm architecture designed for maximum power efficiency and delivers a 2x price-performance improvement while consuming 50% less power compared to previous generation FPGAs. Kintex-7 FPGAs offer high-density logic, high-performance serial connectivity, memory, and DSP, plus Agile Mixed Signal all to enable higher system-level performance and the next level of integration.
The Kintex-7 family enables next generation systems in the medical, broadcast and communications markets. High I/O bandwidth and 144GMACS DSP processing power in chip-scale packaging make the Kintex-7 70T FPGA highly effective for both front- and back-end medical portable ultrasound processing. Kintex-7 FPGAs also enable cost-effective, low-power bridging of the serial digital interface (SDI) protocol onto IP technology for long-distance WAN transport to link local studios/live events, broadcast facilities, and satellite uplink stations using standard IP networks. Kintex-7 FPGAs allow designers to meet stringent latency requirements for LTE baseband processing in a common platform and can also be easily reconfigured to support multiple air interfaces such as LTE, WiMAX and WCDMA.
