The non-dimmable GreenChip™ LED current controller from NXP Semiconductors, designed for non-isolated topologies with high output voltage, delivers very high efficiency (up to 95%) and low system cost. Designed for lighting applications which do not require phase cut dimmer compatibility, and that use a topology with buck conversion, these GreenChip drivers deliver best-in-class performance in terms of efficiency, line regulation, and integration. It is extremely easy to design in, and requires very few additional components on the board. This makes manufacturability in high volumes easy and cost effective. The SSL2109, a controller-only device used to drive an external switch, can be used in applications up to 25 W (external MOSFET selection enables flexibility on efficiency and system cost) and offers functionality similar to the SSL21081/83, although with a different pin out.
