IP54 Series AC Industrial FansNMB offers a series of weather-resistant (oil proof and dust proof), long-life AC fan motors for products used in harsh environments such as machine tools and inverters. They are well suited for products used outdoors such as solar light generation systems and chargers for electric vehicles. With a coil section formed in one piece of epoxy resin and a labyrinth structure in the rotating section, this series dramatically enhances oil proof and dust proof capabilities (equivalent to "IP54"). Additionally, when compared with NMB's conventional models, this series improves static pressure by up to 30%. This weather resistant series, which is designed for low noise, high flow and high pressure applications, is available in three sizes: 80 mm x 80 mm x 25 mm, 119 mm x 119 mm x 38 mm, and 150 mm x 172 mm x 38 mm. Standard features include plastic impellers, aluminum casing, and impedance/thermal protection as well as maintenance free dual ball bearings. IP54 rating, metal blades, dual voltage and 3 Faston terminals #110 are all custom features.

Epoxy resin: Heat-hardening resin. This resin hardens when heated, and it will not melt even if re-heated. It excels in heat resistance, water tightness, being chemical proof and weather resistance.

Labyrinth structure: A special structure that eliminates the incorporation of dust into the rotation axis and the coil section. This structure is called "labyrinth structure" because it has a complicated shape.

Oil proof and dust proof: IP (Internal Protection) is "degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP code)" referred to in JISC 0920(IEC 60529). The degrees of protection are expressed in two figures following the IP.

IP54: 1st code 5: Protection against the penetration of solid foreign objects. The apparatus is dust proof. 2nd code 4: Protection against splashing water. This represents no splashed water effects from any direction.
