EPC9107 helps designers shrink buck converter design with eGaN® FETs

Image of EPC's EPC9107 Demonstration BoardEPC's EPC9107 demonstration board is a 3.3 V output, 1 MHz buck converter with a 15 A maximum output current and 9 V to 28 V input voltage range. The complete power stage, including the EPC2015 eGaN FETs, driver, inductor, and input/output capacitors, is in an ultra-compact 1/2" x 1/2" layout.

Despite its small size, the board has peak power efficiency greater than 96% and is capable of delivering 15 A of current at 3.3 V. To assist the design engineer, the EPC9107 demonstration board is easy to set up and contains various probe points to facilitate simple waveform measurement and efficiency calculation.
