Diodes' ZXLD1370 is a high accuracy LED driver controller that is used with an external MOSFET sized for the expected LED current. It can be configured for operation with a buck, boost, or buck-boost converter. The device can drive up to 16 LEDs in series and operate with an input voltage of 6.5 V to 60 V. Series connection of the LEDs provides identical LED currents, resulting in uniform brightness eliminating the need for ballast resistors.
The ZXLD1370 switches at frequencies up to 1MHz, which allows the use of small size external components, hence reducing the solution footprint. The ZXLD1370 provides a simple, high reliability solution for driving multiple high brightness LEDs in buck, boost, or buck-boost topologies.
