DecaWave is an Irish fabless semiconductor company which develops ICs for indoor location and communication based on its UWB wireless technology platform.

The ScenSor family of parts for the first time gives developers the ability, to locate indoor tagged objects to a precision of 10 cm at a distance of up to 300 m in Line-of-Sight mode and 40 m in Non-Line-of-Sight mode. DecaWave’s technology allows both accurate measurement of time and data communications to occur simultaneously, enabling applications across a wide range of vertical markets.

DecaWave’s first chip, DW1000, conforms to the IEEE802.15.4-2011 standard. Many features of the patented technology are attributable to that standard, including unmatched indoor precision, range (both line of sight and through obstacles), multipath immunity, and immunity from interference. And in addition to unmatched precision performance, DW1000 also offers low power consumption in both receive and transmit modes.
