More about GE Sensing
Thermometrics
Thermometrics has worldwide capability in the manufacture of NTC and PTC thermistors.
Adhering to its worldwide philosophy - "A commitment to excellence" - has enabled Thermometrics to become the leading supplier of thermistors to the medical industry with more than 62 million of its thermistors used in thermal dilution heart catheters alone. In addition, we have established ourselves as one of the largest suppliers of thermistors for the automotive, industrial and consumer goods markets. We have more than 60 years experience in the thermistor industry and serve customers worldwide through facilities in the U.S.A., Puerto Rico, Mexico, England, India, Germany, Korea, China, and Japan. The companies are part of Bowthorpe plc, the international technology group focused on the design, development, manufacture, and marketing of specialist electronic products.
All the companies utilize SPC techniques in combination with independent test and calibration facilities and have achieved more than 100 international quality approvals including ISO 9001. Surface mount devices, chip, disc, glass beads, probes and custom assemblies are among the products offered by the companies.
A significant investment in research and development has made Thermometrics a world-leader in custom-design capabilities. Its design engineering team is unmatched and works as part of the customer's in-house staff to develop thermistors and assemblies unique to their needs. Thermometrics sales and applications staff is experienced and trained to provide the one-on-one technical support required to ensure its customers the highest quality and reliability possible.
Telaire®
Telaire®, based in Santa Barbara, was founded 13 years ago with the intent to develop low cost infrared gas sensing technology that could be used for everyday fire detection and ventilation control. At that time infrared gas sensors were typically selling for $5000 or more and required a trained technician to operate. Telaire's first infrared product, a CO2 sensor, was introduced for a price of $550 yet provided similar performance to high priced high-end sensors. Since then, Telaire® has become a world leader in low cost infrared sensing. Infrared gas spectrometers previously used only in high-end medical and scientific applications can now be applied to everyday tasks using Telaire® technology.
Telaire® is now applying its expertise in a variety of applications that include building control, combustion sensing, environmental monitoring, automotive, appliance white goods and fuel cells. Telaire® has received numerous awards and recognition for its technology, including being featured in the "Best of What's New" in Popular Science and the Photonics Spectra Award for innovative optical technology. Currently Telaire® holds over 30 patents related to the design and application of low cost infrared gas sensing.
